fl2ooob receive problem
« on: June 22, 2000, 02:10:11 PM »

I have an Yaesu fl2000b that works great on transmit; but when in the operating mode it cuts the receive by almost half. If you switch to standby the receive comes right back up. I have checked to make sure that I am running low swr and am running through a tuner. The rig I am currently running it on is a ts 450s; but I have the same problem with it connected to my ts940s. I would apreciate any information you might have on this problem.

I don't know the FL2000 schematic, but it sounds like the T/R switching relay (or its immediate circuitry) in the amp may be bad in the receive position.  Perhaps this relay itself is bypassed when the amp's in the Standby mode?

You might try the www.contesting.com mailing list for Amplifiers.  Search the past lists, or subscribe (you need to go to the FAQ page for info) and post your question.  I believe similar troubles have occured to others (though perhaps not in the FL2000).
