Maybe it's time the US government got its military hardware manufactured in China too, to save taxpayer money. Nothing much actually gets made in the the USA anyway these days. Even if final assembly is done in the USA, many of the parts come from China or other neighboring countries at the very least.
The USA, in its haste to fulfill it's "gotta have it for the cheapest price" syndrome, has been giving away its ability to make almost anything and everything. Computers, book printing, cameras, cellphones, printers, clothes, appliances, wire and cable, integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, media companies, and now car production. In their desire to get fast cash, American companies have been selling off their divisions and subsidiaries, often to Chinese companies which are state-owned or party member managed (a recent example is GE appliances).
Can't say I would particularly seek out a made in USA piece of equipment these days.... China really has the skills now.
