I am hearing the packet traffic, nothing between packet bursts. Squelch is set  and operating normally.

What is NOT happening is anything when I press the BCON button. there is no bcon icon on the screne, the radio does not go into transmit unless I press the mic PTT which shows a transmit but there is no APRS data sent.

How is the squelch set?

Maybe change menu 606 to send your speed and altitude, but keep position ambiguity off. Let the radio send some information. Still need to define your location, or interface a GPS, or else the radio will have nothing to beacon. It is common for the Kenwood APRS radios not to beacon unless you have a position defined in your radio, or have a GPS connected to provide that information.

In menu 606 Speed, Altitude and position ambiguity are all off as I have my home location set in menu 605.

Great, Tom. ve7fed@rac.ca I was about to do a hard reset which would mean reprogramming to get all the memories back in and I don't have the cables! This could save me a lot of work!
