AZ/EL ROTATOR CONTROL WITH MAC COMPUTER
« on: February 09, 2018, 11:01:31 AM »

Greetings:

I am looking for comments and suggestions from Amateurs who have interfaced a Mac Computer running MacDoppler Satellite Tracking Application to an AZ EL Rotator System such as the Yaesu G5400B. Any recommendations on a USB interface for this purpose?

73,

Don

I have interfaced MacDoppler to my SPID RAS-HR rotator. The rotator uses the MD-02 controller which has a USB interface connected directly to my iMac.
Apart from firmware bugs in the MD-02 controller, the interfacing to my iMac works flawlessly.

Here's a website with a list of different controllers. I have personally used the Easy Rotor Controller and the Green Heron. http://sats.wikidot.com/what-yaesu-g-5550-rotor-computer-interfaces-are-there?fbclid=IwAR1yRfxN8n0cQ6xXTRfDBC1Ixz3DtHax2W5CcBs-3_3ZnCEY_NQE1c5tSv8
