Maui repeaters
« on: March 27, 2018, 12:43:42 PM »

Greetings fellow amateurs,
I plan to be on Maui, HI from May 24 to 28th. Are there any active repeaters I can connect with if I bring a handheld? I will be primarily in the Lahaina area with a day trip to Lanai island.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did check repeaterbook.com but found the information to be quite a few years out of date and was seeking more current information.

To W8JX I'll try to remember to post any results I find. In the meantime I found the following site with repeater information that seems to be explicitly for Civil Defense:

This list seems current. http://www.kh6rs.com/maui-county-repeater-and-simplex-plan.html

Just returned yesterday from 10 days in Maui and used a couple VHF/UHF repeaters that are listed on Haleakala (146.94 for instance). Note you need to tx using the stated ctcss.  Didnt find a lot of locals on air to talk to this trip, best time to hear others is on a net. I went to a club meeting a few years ago on a previous trip. Very friendly and welcoming group.

Please excuse them.  They vote "Progressive", which used to be "Communist", which I fought In Vietnam.
