Batteries America
« on: May 25, 2018, 03:20:39 PM »

B.A. has tons of batteries, chargers, hard to find items.  Too bad their shipping speed is that of a 3-legged turtle with 2 of them broken.   After 10 days of hearing nothing, I called them.  Nice lady on the phone checked my order, and said, oh, it is scheduled to be shipped TOMORROW.   What a coincidence.  I wonder if she actually checked anything at all.  Well lady, tomorrow has come and gone, still no shipping info.  I'll wait 3 more days before filing complaint/refund with PayPal.   Look elsewhere for your battery needs.

BatteriesAmerica.com is a great firm. Possibly they were involved in hamfests
and/or conventions ... 'tis the season ...

I have worked with them for many years - never a problem.

I've ordered several batteries from them and never had a problem.  They shipped quickly and I received what I ordered.  I'll do business with them again.

I ordered a battery and chargers for my FT-530 almost 7 weeks ago. Emailed them a few days ago asking for an update. No reply yet. 7 weeks??  The emailed order confirmation (May 6th) stated delivery would be by Airmail, which is usually fairly quick. I can understand some delay, but so far no communication back from these folks.

And what hamfests, and, or, conventions might those be?  Every hamfest I know of has been cancelled, and besides, if you can't run a booth at a hamfest and continue to fill customer orders in a reasonable time, then they are in trouble.

The former BatteriesAmerica stores near me are now BatteriesPlus (Batteries+Bulbs store signs.) BatteriesAmerica.com and BatteriesPlus.com respectively.

Did you look at the date of the post you quoted?  It was 2018 and Hamfest was alive and well - as were we all.

BFD, they are still slower than molasses.  I dealt with them twice in years past for a couple of run of the mill Yaesu batteries, and both times it took them more than two weeks to get around to shipping them, even though they told me over the phone they were in stock.

I refuse to do business with companies that respond quickly to emails and calls. Shipping should be done in a reasonable amount of time OR the buyer should be told that leadtime are extended. There are to many vendors that reply quickly and ship promptly.

I purchased a ZeroFive Flagpole antenna because their competitor was beyond awful in leadtimes and communication. $900 is a lot of cash to deal with incompetence.
