maps in YAAC - can't get them working

I am running the latest version of YAAC in Windows 7 (also latest version) and I am having trouble with maps. I've tried downloading pre-imported tiles and the popup window shows that I have the latest version. However... the box in the popup window isn't showing any tiles have been loaded and my YAAC window isn't displaying maps (that is, it is white) although it is showing stations, aloha rings and so on.  The download window shows a progress bar, as if it downloading tiles.  When I look in the YAAC\tiledir there aren't any tile files.

Anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

This happened to me. I went into the settings and unchecked the option to use https then the maps would download.
