The saxophone as a musical instrument should be banned. We would lose two songs (Pink Floyd - Us and Them, Tina Turner - We Don't Need Another Hero) where it can be heard without psychological harm, but the benefits would greatly outweigh.

Back to the topic:
What I love about the CW is that it's an excellent environment for studying the human species, because I don't know any other human activity where there's such a concentration of sociopaths (deliberate tuning, CQing with pirated call, sending long series of EEEEEEs at 50wpm, all on a DX calling frequency).

[For the sake of a language barrier, I add that the entire post was intended as a joke... though not that much. :-)]

Well, you left Springsteen, John Coltrane, Kenny G and host of others out of your tirade!   ;D ::)

Let’s not forget David Bowie and Edgar Winter played saxophone.

Thanks for your story. I'm not a ham operator and know almost nothing about it. I inherited an SW CW tranceiver. I just registered on this site to see what a CW tranceiver is used for. I thought i might use it to test my VHF boat antenna. The radio lights up and hisses, but i get no signal.  MICLNONE

MICLNONE:  Your "inherited" CW transceiver will no doubt be of no use to test your VHF radio.

You might research (Goggle) your VHF radio brand and model number, print out the information and then search for boaters with similar gear.  You might find someone to help you test your radio to see if it works.

Last but not least...research to find information about licensing requirements.

Good luck.
