crystals for old rigs
« on: January 12, 2019, 07:02:26 AM »

Hi Folks....
About a year or two ago, ICM went out of business. So, now for the old IC22A, or Genave, or even the Drake TR22(C)....are there zero sources of crystals? And the answer is not "There are TONS on the used market"...Because while that may be true, I think you will be hard-pressed to find the one pair you need for the one type of radio you own.
Is anyone still making 'em?
....Dave

Losing ICM was like a knife to the heart. As a owner of several Vintage repeaters, Hamtronics, Kendecom, and HI-Pro This was bad news. But I found Bomar crystal, and they have made several orders for my Kendecom repeaters. They have the Formulas for the build, but I would suggest you check the numbers too. I have not ordered anything for Hamtronics or Hi-Pro as yet but I do have the Formulas If they don't. Owning old Equipment is getting harder, I just found out Jerry Vot of Hamtronics Passed away a year ago and it doesn't look like anyone took over.
I need to reprogram Eproms for the Hamtronics COR-5 controller and am looking for a vendor.

I have a Data I/O, but haven't programmed anything on it in a long time.  Might take me some time to make sure it works, dig out the cables, and get the software loaded.  Do you have binary files of what you need programmed, or does it take a special programmer?  What model are the EPROMs?

Quartslab (UK) is another alternative.
Over 50% of their orders are coming from North America, due to ICM closing.
