Fear not, for he shall appear within two weeks of the event.  He's as regular (and reliable) as Puxatony Phil.

:D well-played, but (in Punxsutawney Phil's defense), groundhog prognostications at least seem randomly reliable (& less triggered by embitterment)  ;)

there is a glaring similarity though:

Quote from: wikipedia
Predictive accuracy
As of 2019, Punxsutawney Phil has made 133 predictions—predicting an early spring (no shadow) 19 times (14.3%). The Inner Circle, in keeping with kayfabe, claims a 100% accuracy rate, and an approximately 80% accuracy rate in recorded predictions (claiming in turn that whenever the prediction is wrong, the person in charge of translating the message must have made a mistake in his interpretation).
Impartial estimates place the groundhog's accuracy between 35% and 40%.[18][19]

also, thank goodness you did not compare him to a farm animal!

Has anyone checked on his well-being lately?  He hasn't been around since late November.... and he's never for a loss for words on any topic.

To DARA's credit, their shuttle service was pretty good the last two years, all things considered.
Where do I find information about the shuttle service? I did not see any mention of it on the Hamvention webpage when I checked.

I'm attending this year, and transportation Dayton-Xenia return is my main concern now.

Remote Hamvention parking lots are served by free shuttles.

OK...I was under the impression it was a service from downtown Dayton.

I think he is working on his own HAMFEST as he promised he would in order to show us all how it really needs to be done.

No idea who he is, but I can imagine the type of person.

Hopefully he will surprise us all. I wish it runs parallel to the established Hamvention, this way I can get more value for my travel dollars. ;D ;D ;D

Are you sure you don't have to bring a goat or something?

Hopefully this will encourage those flea market vendors who usually pull up stakes early to stick around a bit longer on Sunday...

Nah, local authoritative source says the goat droppings (and horse, cow, sheep, ...) are already there waiting for us.

See you there

As a long-time attendee, I have some possible approaches. When are you arriving, and where are you staying?

If flying into DAY Thur/Fri, I suggest standing by the terminal exit with a handheld and "HAMVENTION" sign. That's worked for me.

From the hotel in the morning, I've never had an issue getting a ride to the site, ask at breakfast.
