The Oro Valley ARC journeys to the Empire Ranch which at one time encompassed a million acres extending into Mexico. It is still a working cattle ranch and is managed by U. S. Bureau of Land Management. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Over 50 western movies have been at least partially filmed there.
