Hi Glenn,

I like this. That's the trouble with my transformer-oil-filled Cantenna. But if I ever modify it, I think a fan or two would be sufficient in lieu of heat sinks.

It's good to be back here on these eHam forums, though I have no intention of resigning as a moderator on ham.stackexchange.com. :-)

... Some commercial dummy loads utilize an oil bath but instead of a can they have a large finned heatsink in contact with the oil. This greatly helps to shed the heat that has been transferred from the resistor to the oil thereby improving the duty cycle.

Hi Mike,

Great to hear from you again. Glad you are still moderating. You do a nice job at that.

I appreciate your vote of confidence. :)  But I think that I could improve.

I recently backed off a little, and plan on having less of a hand in it. The users there seem to have stepped up what they can do, and I like that. Maybe Scott will follow suite.

I can't explain it, but I think that somehow the chat features--separate from the main Q&A pages-- ought to be emphasized more. It might attract more users. But I don't quite know what to suggest there. If you have any ideas, either email me or post your suggestions in meta.ham.stackexchange.com.
