Most people don't take their antenna off and then drag it with them to where they are going. Antennas can possibly be taken off but it's not usual. People who steal will normally steal the radio instead of just the antenna.

Why did you leave the antenna on the car in the first place? It's a pain to take off and put back on, but you would still have your antenna. I take my radio face plate and antennas in when not in use. My radio and amp is in my trunk so it would be hard to steal.

Having had many things stolen from my vehicles over the years, I can say that it sucks.  Unfortunately depending on where you are it may be considered just a part of life.  I know it is very annoying, but I wouldn't expect to ever see that antenna again.

Why don't the site owners/mods just change the rules, no call no post.

It's sad that your antenna would be stolen.  One of my first thoughts was I wonder if the thief thought the antenna was for another radio service.

I suppose we should expect more such behavior as societal decay continues.  While I'm sure it's a very important event to the owner is pales by comparison to retail stores being invaded by mobs and their merchandise being stolen with either no enforcement action or prosecution or both on the part of the government.  A great example being set for our children and the rest of society.

Having your antenna stolen is not insignificant.  Owning a retail business in one of our major cities and watching thugs come into your store and clean out your shelves with impunity is likewise not insignificant.  Sadly, only in the first instance is there a chance of apprehension and punishment.

I live in a very low crime rate area. People are super polite 99.9% of the time, when somebody says "have a nice day" they mean it. I still lock my car every time I exit, it's a habit I developed in California. I never, ever, drive to large cities. Why subject myself to that bad management?

In NYC , with the new "no bail"  laws and rampant crime, the DA announced that they will not prosecute "victimless" crimes ( as in no bodily injury) like prostitution, armed robbery, burglary, and arson with no deaths involved.

WOW! How did we get here? Well...I know...but the thread will be locked
