IC-7300 and MacOS Remote Rig Control?
« on: September 20, 2019, 07:27:18 PM »

I'm looking for the best way to remotely control my new Icom IC-7300 over the internet from my iPhone, iPad, and/or MacBook. Is there good MacOS rig control software compatible with the IC-7300? If not, would something like the RigPi work for my situation. I do not have a PC at the moment, only a MacBook laptop (which usually stays home). Thoughts?

Thanks!

Yes, the MFJ RigPi is an excellent solution for what you want to do.  Because the RigPi doesn't require any client software you can use it with any normal web browser.  You will only need a single USB cable between the IC-7300 and the RigPi.  If you don't need CW keying from the internal RigPi K1EL keyer or need to access other types of radios via audio cables, you can get the less expensive RigPi MFJ-1234MB for just $179.95.
