Although, as I re-read your post, it appears you no longer reside there (“ my first AZ house didn’t have”...) as in past tense.

That's correct. I'm now in my third house here in AZ. First one...HOA, no Architectural Committee. Second one...HOA, the AC approved a multi-band vertical (after a no-cost legal loophole). Current one...HOA, I applied for a multi-band vertical, and AC denied it.

You all may think I'm a glutton for punishment :D, but besides antenna restrictions, I have no problem with HOA's/CC&R's.

WAIT.  One last post.  You can find and meet the hoa president, and have a face to face.  Having experienced the performance of a big honky tri-bander, I sadly accept the fact some neighbors and community's cannot accept them.  I moved into an unfinished community, and just accepted that a ground level vhf vertical was about all I was going to have.  I used the emmcom value for my neighbors to leverage myself a 19' roof top vertical :) I was happy until I got a steal on a new  hf rig, now I'm
looking at temporary stealth antennas til I move and a big flagpole will appear.

It is not rocket science. Buy your home in the country. We raise horses. Could not find a HOA that would let me keep a horse in the back yard.

Neighbors are not a problem...they are 1/2 mile away.

No CC and R ladies roaming around. Coyoties keep them off the property.

If your antenna blows down, nobody cares.

Much less RF noise from everything electrical.

The longer drive to work gives you more time to think.

Stub your toe and want to cuss…no problem. No one will hear you.

Moving to a HOA and putting up an antenna is about as effective as not bathing and trying to find a wife.

Think I know why the ‘old’ wife left
