These were in 1930's era transmitters.
I have a qst aug 1936 qst which uses them in a transmitter; gives ever thing but the size of the form.
In the picture it looks like 1 to 1 1/4 in dia

Such a small size difference wont be that important these days. Bud, Hammarlund, National, and others sold plug in forms from 4 to 6 pin and a little experimenting is all it takes since you already have the info on the variable cap used.
Bud Industries is the current company and is still family owned so they may still have some info.
