shimming a t2x rotor
« on: November 02, 2019, 08:02:23 PM »

This is new to me.  How is shimming done or is it needed.  I have a rohn 25g tower with a 1 1/2 inch mast with a bushing in the nosecone. Can anyone tell me what is involved in the "shimming" process ??
Thanks

with such a small mast, it’s likely you will need to shim it to align with the top bearing. We can guess how much but why do that when you can measure it?

DX Engineering et.al. sell shims specifically for this purpose if you can’t make your own.

Note - you might get more response by putting this in the antenna and tower forum.
