Schematic Kenwood TR-2200A
« on: November 16, 2019, 12:08:56 PM »

Hi - I am looking for a schematic for the TR-2200A mobile VHF radio. I found the schematics for the TR-2200 online, but it's not the same.

I recently acquired a TR-2200A without the power cable, and have replaced the exotic-looking proprietarty 3-pin DC power connector with a standard 2.1 mm barrel connector. The original 3-pin connector contained a small switch that transferred power from external DC or battery. But I am not quite sure how this switch was supposed to work. I would like to build a small relay circuit to duplicate this functionality, and then I should be able to use and charge an internal NiCad battery.

Brian

Thanks, I already found all those sources. Unfortunately, the the differences between the 2200 and 2200A seem to be in the DC power and battery configuration. I'll figure it out eventually, probably just have to reverse engineer it.

I have the same radio and just went through all the paperwork and I do have the schematics.  My dad saved everything.  Lol.  The paper is a bit off color and it’s a little difficult to read in some spots.   If you would like I can take it to work and scan it then email you the document.  Just send me an good email address.

Brian:
I have an original 7200A manual with a schematic.
You are welcome to it.
Thanks,
Bill
