IC-7300 on 630 meters
« on: November 18, 2019, 12:09:52 PM »

I understand the IC-7300 will output a few watts on 474 kHz. Have any of you tried that?

What digital modes are popular on the 630 meter band?

David, G0MRF, has written up some of his experience with the IC-7300 on 630 m at:

In my part of the world WSPR and JT9 are the most used digital modes but CW has been known and, with our low population density, SSB can be accommodated with care and courtesy.  Hopefully some one closer to your location will be able to add some details of practice in your region.

I use a TS-890S with just an external PA, since no transverter is required with the Kenwood 590/890 series.  Good luck getting going on 630 m - I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

JT9 is the popular digital contact mode on 630.
