YouTUBE: Tribute to a Century of Radio Broadcasting

My first discovery of the "Magic" of radio was with a single transistor kit AM radio in
tuning the Broadcast band at night instead of going to sleep as Mon & Dad wanted me to do.

I remember pulling in those "far away" stations until sleep overtook me.

Well, here's a 17 minute video by W1AWX (https://www.qrz.com/db/w1awx) to celebrate AM Radio ...

"On the 100th anniversary of broadcast radio it's still possible to hear an AM radio station
on all 118 AM North American Medium Wave channels from 530 kHz to 1700 kHz. Listen
to stations on all frequencies as recorded off the air with a simple wire antenna in
Eastern Massachusetts and see information on every station heard."

All the stations heard were "received 24 miles Southwest of Boston MA"

Enjoy!

This is how I got started in radio. Back in the early 60's staying up listening to the radio at night. Would keep a log of all the stations that I could hear.
