wsjt-x on win 10 laptop -> remote desktop mac mini
« on: December 03, 2019, 04:09:12 AM »

Good morning.
I'm new to this forum and also new to the hobby. General ticket a year ago, but just got my rig Sept of this year. Everything is great, operating digital modes on IC-7300 hooked to my laptop running windows 10. What I'm trying to do now is access this remotely via running Remote Desktop on my main home system, a Mac Mini running OS X Mojave. What I'm finding is that I can remote to the laptop just fine [after the trial/error of getting this app set up]... but there's no waterfall display for WSJT-X. It appears to be a sound issue. I've googled this, but so far haven't found an answer that addresses my particular scenario of remote mac -> pc.
Just curious if anyone else has successfully configured this and what I need to do in order to make it work?

You have got me confused.  How could not being able to see the waterfall have anything to do with a sound issue? If you see the waterfall on the computer running WSJT-x  and cannot see it on the remote desktop computer that would appear to be a remote desktop issue.  I use google chrome and its remote capability to remote in to my rigs in the radio room from my living room and occasionally from other locations. Works pretty well.  Another one to try that seems to work well is Anydesk.
