HOA Success story
« on: January 02, 2020, 09:44:20 PM »

I suppose living where the second worst threat to our country exists is in my favor. The Department of Homeland Security has deemed that Cascadia Rising is just below terrorism. I live in a brand new community in Sequim Wasington, without an HOA in effect, yet, but an architectural committee must approve any modifications to the house or land.  My request was for a 19' vhf/uhf vertical to be placed on the peak of my 30' roof, on the end of the house that abutted the street. The committee wanted a much shorter antenna, but I convinced the architect that I needed the height for the gain to reach the fire department in town where the disaster com-center was. They agreed, with two provisions, the antenna should be on the other end of the house, and a letter from the specific fire chief responsible for the com-center.  The antenna move added abit of coax, and the chief was ecstatic about another ham station.  The only downside was that the building department got involved, but that's another topic!
