Hi all,

My car was broken into and my ham radio was stolen.  I had not yet activated the APRS feature but was wondering if it could be activated remotely to track down the radio? Radio is a yaesu ftm-100dr.  The face plate was locked away separate and wasn't taken so I'm not sure if they have a way to control the unit or if they can even turn it on. Worth a shot I suppose.

In a word 'No'.  Without the face plate the radio is a brick.

Thanks.  It was a long shot anyways.  Back to calling pawn shops...
