XHDATA D-808 to receive CW?
« on: March 05, 2020, 01:33:37 AM »

Has anybody got the XHDATA D-808 and do you think it's an acceptable entry level receiver to receive CW?

It has a 500hx audio filter which should be a good thing.

There are a few reviews but they all come from SWL's who might not be interested in CW.

Thanks.

Probably not as it does not have a CW mode to produce a tone. You will only hear CW as carrier waves turning on and off.

You must be confusing with a different model as this definitely decodes ssb and cw, unless I've misunderstood what you said.

I wrote a review in January and I'm a ham. I have listened to many SSB and CW stations in the last few months. It seems fine for basic CW use although I have not used it (yet) under really crowded conditions.
