BATTERY PACK FOR YAESU FT70
« on: March 25, 2020, 01:25:41 PM »

I really need to power the radio from aa cells while in the field for long times, and there
will be no recharging facilities.  Yaesu only seems to sell the lithium-ion packs.  Has anyone modded
a case, or accessed  the external dc in with a homemade battery pack? I keep looking at the a/c
charger that uses 10.5vdc to supply 8.4vdc for charging.

You can build a voltage regulator circuit with a lowdrop voltage regulator chip.
There are several circuits avalable on the internet.
Basical the circuit consist of the voltage regulator and a few capacitors.
