Kenwood TS2000 or TS2000(X)

I am sorry but I really don't find modern rigs very pretty. And I own a Flex-6400.

Unfortunately, any 'Flex' radio has all the visual appeal of a mud fence.

I love my Flex but it is just a network appliance sitting under my desk. And it ain't pretty!

Hammarlund HQ-180AC.  The final of a classic line of similarly designed receivers.  Unlike Hallicrafters which seemed to try so many different face layouts, Hammarlund was consistent in their "facial" designs.  Of course when I first fell in love with this receiver I was in eighth grade and we referred to it as a "knob twirlers delight".  When I was about 63 I finally found a perfect one (locally) and there isn't a day goes by that I don't take a minute to rediscover this beauty.

Be well and be safe.....

I have a fondness for the RME receivers, the RME 4350 series had that beautiful turned alloy knob and oh so smooth tuning, (if in good repair), the large semi-circular dial was also a thang of beauty!
I also had the use of an RME 6900 that I liked very much, both of these rigs were no slouches in their day and were quite stable with few image problems, and quite good crystal selectivity.

I love radios with slide-rule dials, especially the ones where the dial is large and uncluttered and the radio doesn't look like a bread-box.

For example, the Heathkit GR-78 had a very nice-looking and clean panel appearance....  a rather nice cabinet too  (even a little chrome trim, so in line with early 1970s design)  ....  http://rigpix.com/heathkit/gr78.htm

I like it a lot.   Some industrial designer probably put some serious effort into that one.

Yeah, I love my GR-78 for its looks. It is a classy looking bit of kit on any SWL desk, but it is maybe personal taste.
Personally I don't like too cluttered looking facia of radios. Simple, but very functional and reliable, these are what I am looking for in radios.

I think there is an elegence and simplicity of design to the look of the Yaesu FR-50B that is hard to ignore.

The FR-50 looks a lot like the silver face Tempo One.  Of course the Tempo was made by Yaesu and also known as the FT200  http://www.rigpix.com/mischam/tempo_one.htm

Here is a high-tech looking transceiver:  http://www.rigpix.com/mischam/adat_adt200a.htm
