Yeah, the article is an apology and explains that parts to complete the ic-705s have not arrived, there is no estimate when they can resume building the radios.
What I tried to highlight in my OP is this:
- Icom planned to release IC-705 by the end of March 2020.
- Our country and other countries were not closed until Mid March almost,
So, my question is do you guys believe that a company like Icom did not build and shipped a single unit of their most innovative, latest portable product to be released in USA market prior to 10-15 days of it's release date?
That sounds like a "no brainer" answer to me? Unless Icom executives were all aware of an upcoming closure of a country like USA due to a pandemic in advance..
What can I say? They must've an unbeliavable foresight !
I mean if I am going to release my most recent and anticipated model of product to a market like US where I expect thousands and thousands of sales, I will not be waiting to manufacture and ship those products to that market 2-3 days prior to release date...
At least 2-3 weeks ago it'll be all shipped to my main distributor and stocked their regional warehouses ready to be distribute in a moments notice.
But now we're told that IC705s still on the production line or not even shipped yet?
Does anybody know, did they even received the FCC Approval yet? If they did, when that happened?
Just wondering!
