MFJ - New Website Format
« on: June 09, 2020, 09:42:56 AM »

Is it me (could be) or does anyone else think the new MFJ site is terrible? The search engine sucks. You just can't find products as you were able to on the original site navigation.
Seems to me if they want to sell more products they took a huge step backward! Don't get me wrong. I am not bashing MFJ. I have many of their products and if they were to fold, well, there goes QST also! So, what's the consensus? Is it me or do others have difficulty...no, do others NOT navigate the new site? Oh, I'm still waiting for the parts list to show up too. Way overdue and shouldn't have been thrown out there like a carrot. Okay. I'm done ranting...again.

I looked at it and liked it. Easy to navigate.

Name one company who updated their website where it actually became better.  Remember the old saying-if it works, leave it alone!

Im not a MFJ regular, so my visit was a almost like a "first impression".

It does have that "under construction" look and feel about it.
( did they hire the Eham webmaster ??)
You have to select a category before you can search instead of just putting in a keyword which is kind of strange.

However,  the product sales part is very impressive with the one click paypal button. Great idea!

I do NOT like MFJ's new website-URL  and agree with comments by N4MU :(
It's NOT operational as the original setup; will never use it.

The old web site worked well!  I liked it.  No reason to change it...

other than the fact that today things *have* to change at regular intervals or you're not making progress.  If you're not continuously changing, you're doing it wrong and losing customers.  You have to make progress, right?  If you're not making progress, you're falling behind, right?  So you have to continuously make changes whether or not it's needed, right?  New folks looking at it (ON THEIR PHONES) will not realize what the old site looked like and will think it's a great web site!  Those of us who were comfortable with the old site, well, ... keep up or drop out.  That's the mentality for everything now.

Don't ya just love progress?  Welcome to the 21st century.

I thought their previous website was pretty craptacular, actually. This one has a better look to it, but it is a bit less functional, in the sense that it seems to take more steps than before to get to a given product's page. Looks good but might not always operate smoothly. Like MFJ products in general. :)

I checked it out and it seemed like a significant improvement.  Easy to find products and intelligently arranged.  Too bad the new eHam site still sucks! ;)

Alas! I've tried it a few more times but if you want to search forget it. Give me plain vanilla and logical. Glad there's [evidently] a one touch "buy" feature. Now if I could only find what I want to buy. If they spent as much time streamlining and making the site user friendly then they are spending on the frequent, make that TOO frequent, "cutesy" themed emails it would be a Helluva site!
I have a lot of their stuff, and it has all been working for years but if I want to buy something I go to HRO to get details...and buy from them too.
