I'm back with another silly question for the group that I hope someone can help with. I am going to build a 2 meter 1/4 wave ground plane antenna. I have some 3/16" diameter copper tubing handy that I can use. This tubing would be perfect for perfect for the radials, but difficult to solder to the center pin of my SO-259 connector. My question is this - are their any issues if the radials are made from 3/16" hollow copper tubing and the vertical radiator is a solid copper (#8 wire)? Not sure how this would affect performance or SWR. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!
