I can't find the price anywhere, in fact I tried to look it up at HRO and before I could get to the site, I get an error message that my computer's clock is fast, even though the clock is set for automatic update.

Ergonomics and overall appearance is really good. Battery drain that low on rx can only be gotten with a Tayloe design and that one receives similar to an IC7300... [well there's regens but we want spectrum scopes...] I think if it's missing anything for use in the field it's a tuner. The radio is so thin that a tuner could be added in a separate matching case attached to the back of the radio.

Commenters complaining about "too many cables" are missing something: In the field: power, antenna, and mic are going to be the minimum requirement for operation and they have to be separate cables...

Those connectors on either end look disproportionatelly large and cumbersome compared to the rig itself.  In actual practice they might work out just fine.

Commenters on the video said they are water resistant and are not expensive. They do add to the overall "mil spec" look, there's that.

Has anyone tried the company website?  https://lab599.com

I get a warning the site is unsecure, doesn't support SSL, and then Malwarebytes pops up and says the site has trojan software trying to download to my computer.

This rig seems interesting but this company? Not sure about it.

I can access them with firefox no warnings, no problems

Lab 599 has begun shipping the TX-500 and HRO just got a bunch of them, with more on the way (hopefully) soon. :)

The price jumped from $789.95 on July 23 2020 to $899.95 at HRO today. However. HRO is saying "Out Of Stock - Delivery Will Be Delayed!"

They are out of stock because the radios (about 100 of them) all went out to fill backorders. The next shipment hopefully will clear the remaining backorders and get the TX-500 back in stock.

At $899.95 you could buy a real radio with a built in antenna tuner and 100 watts out.

I wonder how that would work with a series of very selective 10W band distinct filters added to it. An then drive an unfiltered cheap CB amp and stay legal??
