I think for the past year the 7610 screen issues has been solved by Icom changing to another manufacture and as far as earlier production they are replacing any of the older radio's screens with new one. Rob Sherwood owns two 7610's both are early production radio's and both have had no screen issue at all. I also have a few friends who bought there 7610 back within the first six months and here again no issue so its not every single display coming from the older OEM has failed. My screen was replaced last year before March from there Michigan repair facility and knock on some wood has been OK and its from the older batch but most of the other very minor issues that this radio has had have been small, the rest of this radio works fine and like the 7600 is easy to use.
The only real issues were the display and that has been addressed.
