Problems using MODE MT-63 in FLDIGI
« on: September 10, 2020, 10:34:31 AM »

Have a YAESU FTdx-1200 and using FLDIGI to send MT-63 1KL.Using a Rigblaster Plug & Play. I receive fine , but in transmit there is little to no modulation. the xcvr is set to USB Digital mode and does key up. The RSID is transmitted but when text is sent very little output is obtained. My carrier Lvl is set between 40 & 50 watts.

However, using Olivia, both xmt and rcv functions work fine. Is anyone else experiencing this problem??

I noticed the same thing when I first started using the "original" MT63 software by IZ8BLY many years ago.

My single tone or "tune" output power was set to 40W, but when running MT63 the RF output showed about 10 watts on my non-PEP wattmeter.

MT63 is advertised as an 80% duty cycle mode but I suspect the effective duty cycle is lower when transmitting real text.

  TNX Frank!
I noticed the same thing! The real problem according to the training group I am in is that my center freq
shifts from 1500 HZ to 800 HZ when I am sending text. They are receiving my RSID OK!

Off the top of my head I would suggest making sure the Fldigi "Lk" (lock) button is not activated. It's located under the lower right corner of the waterfall. When it's on, the transmit audio frequency is "locked" to the same value regardless of waterfall tuning. This could explain why your CF is jumping from 1500 Hz on receive to 800 Hz on transmit. Just a thought.
