I just renewed my license directly through the FCC ULS system.
Like any government site, it doesn't make it easy for you, though.
Here is the the FCC fact sheet about renewals:
https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-341062A1.pdfI went to the ULS site they indicate:
http://wireless.fcc.gov/ulsUnder "filing" , select "file online" which will take you to the login page
There are two things you will need to access your license account.
1) Your FRN # , which is onn your license.
2) the password, which was provided years ago.
The password will be the tough one for many. Fortunately, I'm somewhat OCD about such things and I had written it down 10 years ago , but never needed it till now.
There is a procedure to rest your password if you need to.
Select the "paperless" option and edit your account as needed and include your email address.
Finish the "RO" application and you will get a "completed notice " and you can down
load and save the application.
The next day I got a link in my email box to my renewed license in PDF form which I downloaded, saved and printed.
It's simple, but a bit clunky, IMO.
I thought this outline might encourage others to try it.
