The Three astronauts of Expedition 64 crew will begin a 6-month space research mission on the station on Oct. 14 at 3:54am ET just over 3 hours after launching.
Expedition 64 will be the 64th long-duration mission to the International Space Station and will begin on 21 October with the release of the Sojuz MS-16.
The crew will consist of members of the Soyuz MS-17 and alternating members of the SpaceX Crew-1, the SpaceX Crew-2 and the Soyuz MS-18. The mission will end in April 2021, with the release of the Sojuz MS-17.
The crew of the Soyuz MS-17, consisting of the commander of the ISS Ryzhikov and the flight engineers Kud'-SverĨkov and Rubins, will be the main crew of the mission, remaining aboard the International Space Station for the duration of the expedition. Until June 2020, Rubins' post was occupied by NASA veteran Stephen Bowen, who was later removed from the crew.
In mid-November 2020, the crew members of the SpaceX Crew-1 (Hopkins, Glover, Noguchi, Walker), the first US commercial operational crew, will arrive on the ISS and will participate in the mission until April 2021.
These will be replaced by members of the SpaceX Crew-2 (Kimbrough, McArthur, Pesquet, Hoshide) until March 2021; for a few days both commercial crews will both be on board, carrying at least 11 crew members.
