Greyline Performance Ghosting Me
« on: October 27, 2020, 05:10:48 PM »

I ordered a 24 foot flagpole antenna near the end of April. I received it in September. As I was a assembling it I discovered that one of the tubing segments had no holes in it. They sent me an address to return it, said that they would fix it right away. I sent it back. The tracking information says that it was left on dock. It has been 3 weeks since I've had any communication from them. They have not acknowledged receipt of the part nor responded to my emails. How they managed to send such a clearly defective part to the paint shop is beyond me. The weather will soon make it impossible to install the antenna until next spring. Of course I can put it up as a 20 footer, but I'll be out the shipping cost plus the difference I paid for the longer antenna. Right now I have a collection of useless parts.
I can only conclude that this is a small company run by people who have no idea how to run a manufacturing company.

Did you read all of their reviews before purchasing? From what I have heard it’s a small family business that outsources all the parts. I also have read that the product is a good performer. Just stay on them.

Search "Greyline Performance Antennas" on the QRZ Antennas Forum.  That will enlighten you to their well-known antics...

Sorry for your loss; it pays to research companies well before pulling the trigger!

Interesting threads Over Yonder.

Note that on Page 18 of the thread started by K4VMG, there is a recent post from the owner of Greyline, soliciting input (including phone numbers) and claiming, in effect, all is well.  (Made me think of Kevin Bacon’s character at the end of “Animal House”, but I digress)

Humbly suggest that anyone with issues, if they haven’t already, read those posts, reply accordingly if applicable, and/or use the posted contact information.

And... you don’t really want to know how much my FPV cost...

After reading their terrible reviews, I ordered a ZeroFive 30’. Ordered and delivered in about 2 weeks (ahead of schedule.) There was a key part (labeled unum) that was not with the main delivery but Tom had it sent the next day so it did not impact my install project.

I will not give my hard earned money to companies that provide crappy service or support. I called Tom on a Sunday and he was available for a discussion. So far so good. I just bought a Rig Expert antenna analyzer to help me understand how it is performing. Being a new ham, it is hard for me to accurately review the performance.

I steered away from Greyline after reading their reviews in various places.  I ended up ordering the 24 ft flagpole from ZeroFive on Wednesday after talking to the owner on Tuesday.  He says they're a little behind but that I should get it before Christmas.

When shopping for. FlagPole antenna, I researched options available. When I found Greyline, I checked the forums and learned how frustrated their customer were with their crappy service, extended leadtimes, and generally a lest than stellar experience. SHAME ON THEM. I went with a ZeroFive and Tom has under promised and over delivered.

To late for you unfortunately but maybe this helps others.
