"PA" by call sign in FCC database
« on: October 29, 2020, 07:20:53 PM »

I applied for a vanity call sign about 10 days ago. Now when I look myself up in the database there is a "PA" by my current call sign. Any idea what this means?

Thanks! I had that suspicion. Do you think it means I'll likely be approved or does everyone who applied for it also have the "PA" by their call until the FCC decides?

It takes about 18 days to get an approval..you should be past the red light review process..(anything that might cause you not to qualify for the sign)..but there is a mandatory waiting period.  If the sign has a number of people applying for it, I don't know what will happen..I know QRZ website has a table that has likely outcomes on it.

Here's the application status from the AE7Q site:

http://www.ae7q.com/query/data/CallHistory.php?CALL=N5ZR#Apps

It looks like there's a good bit of competition for the call you applied for. Check the "Pending Application Predictions" at the bottom of the page.
