I read someplace that the 2D scope has very limited options or something.
It also does not show the filter on the scope from memory?

Last night there was another youtube video up on the DX10, a japan based ham had it on his youtube page, it did not look like a dealer but who knows, he didn't display the 3D but had it in 2D mode but didn't go threw all the options, its real time and not as pretty or adjustable as the Icom but until a ham here in the USA gets one who compares it nobody knows. The video did show the use of the DNR which seem to not be that underwater watery effect but it was on another JA station on 40 meters below 7.1. I am sure it will be able to push the transmit audio to 4K like the 3000 did so for a fairly compact radio, ok display but great RX spec it just might be an economical ticket for a decent under $2K radio. I may pic one up once its in country and it will be my go wide radio and the 7610 will still be the DX rig. I am sure by now Yaesu has fixed there dreaded ALC issues the past radio have had cause the 101D has not seen any complaints not like the FT2000/FTDX3000/1200 and 5000 did which had very tricky ALC setting that would require to run the ALC at half scale.

These radio's are in the US, should hit dealers shelves before Friday but I would be sure most dealers will be filling backorders before they have any for stock but I got my order in so will see. The Manual at Yaesu USA site was the give away that they have landed.

Not many buttons or knobs, so loads of menu to wade through.
I do not even see a mic gain/power output knob, menu items 193 and 205?

No thanks! Been there, done that with two modern Yaesu's.

If I remember right you didn't care for the 7300 also but for limited bandwidth on transmit so each to his own. I don't care about the GUI like most but the RX specs are dam good on this model, besting the K23 and right behind the 101D plus I am sure Yaesu will expand the TX bandwidth setting out to 4K like they did on the 3000. The 3D display is a real waste but will see how the RX holds up in tight CW battles.

I thought the 7300 was easy to use and figure out.
The audio was thin and the tuner was useless, but the radio was easy and fun to operate.
The Yaesu's I had were nice working radios, the tuner was much better (but still not an Elecraft), rx audio was ok, but operating them was NO fun at all.

Maybe the 10 is better with a touch screen, but I like a knob or two more.
Band buttons are nice, one for each band, same with mode, I like a mic gain and power output knob, and a bandwidth/shift knob set and rf gain.
Set and forget things are fine in menu's, things you use all the time should be easy to get to and not menu item 66.
Icom seems to have that part down pat.

I thought my Ford was nice but still not a Cadillac. I thought my Cadillac was nice but still not a Mercedes. I thought my Mercedes was nice but still not a Maserati. I thought my Maserati was nice but still not a Lamborghini. What exactly is your point?

My point is that the radio may be great, but it seems like it will not be any fun to use it.

Hey everyone the tuner on the 7300 is "useless".*  It will only tune to a maximum of 3:1 so that makes it useless. Of course it says that in the manual. Which is available free for download to any prospective buyers before purchase. But hey, we can all agree that any tuner that will only tune 3:1 is useless. Glad we got that out of the way. Oh. What's that you say?  It will tune to a wider range than 3:1? How so?  Emergency mode? What's that? RTFM (Read The Fine Manual) you doofus.

The point is it will not be fun for YOU.. And no one here on eham cares if YOU have fun...

Why do people say stupid stuff like this? I have never understood their reasoning.

People say stupid stuff because they are biased and they ARE STUPID....

The point for N2Flexlover is it ain't as good as his Flexradio and he is soon going to point that out. Heck, the radio ain't even in ham shacks yet and N2Flexlover and others are bashing it.

Does anyone but K9IUQ remember when the Icom 7300 was released at Dayton hamfest and Flexradio bought one and took it to their booth so Flexlovers could disrespect the radio? The Flexlovers came in hordes here to eham too, making fun of the lowly 7300 and how it did not come up to Flexradio standards. The rest is history.

Dejavu? Maybe the new Yaesu will make fools of the Flexers once again. In fact it has already started, the damn radio ain't even in shacks yet and N2Flexlover is making fun of the FTDX10.

Because they don't RTFM ::). And they just like to hear themselves talk. How anyone can criticize the capabilities of the $1,000 IC-7300 is beyond me. Yeah, I'm biased...I own two of 'em. But I've owned a lot of radios in the past. If you want all the bells and whistles, spend the freakin' money and stop complaining. I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to "technical" knowledge, but I've been around ham radio long enough to know a capable radio within a certain price point, and know what features I need and don't need. I'm sure the FTDX-10 will be a fine radio in its price point.

Agreed. And to Stan's point, I think we should all sit back and wait until the new Yaesu gets into peoples hands and they have a a chance to evaluate it.  All radios have good and bad points. And the way that people operate and use their radios are NOT all the same. I have an FT-891 in my truck, and I have run across a couple of its operating quirks I don't like as a mobile, that I never even gave a second thought when I used it in the house. It also has some very good points as a mobile, not the least is its very small size and good audio.

Flex? Is that the company that thought the future of amateur radio was without knobs?

Hmmm... seems to me I remember a certain company later coming out with something called the Maestro.

I guess a company can be as wrong as it’s customers.
