I don't pay dues and haven't for quite some time. I have voted with my wallet. That doesn't mean I don't care that I'm watching a once great organization that I supported many years go down the tubes. Even though I have moved on to other aspects of the hobby, I always hold out hope for change even though it doesn't seem likely right now. As I've said recently, I didn't have the AMSAT logo printed on my QSL cards for nothing. Honestly, it just sucks watching what's happening and seeing that apparently the rank and file members are content to let it go on and do nothing.

I, too, hate seeing what has happened to the organization. I seems to have really started going downhill much quicker over the past few years.

You're exactly right. Apathy is the main issues. In the last election only approximately 1/3 of members eligible to vote did so. That is pure apathy. Why belong to an organization unless you are going to cast a vote every couple of years?

I feel, at this point, that it is imperative to keep the members and non-members informed of what is really happening within the organization. Knowledge is power and knowledge cannot be gained when a handful of people attempt to cover-up shenanigans.

The legacy, incumbent Board members and their appointed 'friends' keep getting caught in conspiracies and not following the bylaws and policies of the organization. In this thread, alone, we have the current AMSAT-NA President stating that he didn't follow the policies of the AMSAT-NA Harassment Policy. This cannot be denied. It's right here in this thread. AMSAT-NA does not follow bylaws and policies of the organization. It is imperative that members wake-up and vote out those that are using AMSAT-NA as a clubhouse for themselves and their friends.

I wanted to update this this thread to state that the formal complaint I filed with AMSAT-NA regarding harassment by an AMSAT-NA Ambassador on November 24th has not been addressed. As the President stated here in this thread, he has violated the AMSAT-NA Policy by not following it. I have not been contacted by anyone from the organization to initiate an investigation.

Let this thread, and post, serve as evidence, once again, that AMSAT-NA leadership does not follow the bylaws and policies of the organization. They can't hide it with smoke, mirrors and Tang dust.

AMSAT-NA leadership continues to not deliver effective, ethical management of the organization. Maybe one day AMSAT-NA members will wake-up and vote out this 'leaders' that do nothing other than use the organization as their personal clubhouse.
