Propagation on 30 Meters Tonight (11/23 @ 0400Z)
« on: November 22, 2020, 08:28:42 PM »

Conditions are pretty good right now, as I write this.  I'm being heard on FT8 from Russia to the Canary Islands, per PSK Reporter, and I'm working everybody I'm hearing with 50 watts.  Too bad there's not much activity.

30m my favorite band, I do FT8 but I'd rather work CW, my first communications mode since 1965. Unfortunately, other than SOTA and POTA, not much CW activity on 30m.

It is a shame that 30m is not more widely used - it is a good bridge between 20m which tends to shut down quite early in the evening and 40m which stays open far longer but is a bit LF.

It's not unusual for me to work OZ or AntiPod in the middle of the day on 10M while most of the stuff I hear is eastern EU. And they're not bad signals either. Of course my 30M dipole is up at 70'.
