Recording studio Microphone
« on: December 02, 2020, 09:32:25 AM »

I have a sE Electronics X1 A Large-diaphragm Condenser Microphone that I use in my recording studio/ham shack. It requires 48v phantom power. I have a Yaesu Ft 991. Can I use the mic on the 991? I realize that I would need a stand alone 48v power supply but beyond that what problems do I have matching the two (radio and mic) together?

If you run a recording studio you should be mildly familiar with phantom power adapters. They split out the audio onto a separate low-Z pair which would connectg to your Yaesu;s mic jack.

I am a newbie to recording. I use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface. The back of the unit has a USB which goes to the computer and two 1/4" outputs. How do you propose I hook up the two 1/4" outputs to the 8 Pin RJ45 Plugin?
