I was trying to purchase a Kent paddle several months ago. My emails to them went unanswered and when I contacted one of the larger amateur radio dealers in Britain, they told me that they had not received any stock from them for some time and were not optimistic about getting any more.

I ended up buying a paddle from Yuri UR5CDX - the service was excellent with delivery from the Ukraine within a week and the quality is also extremely good. Prices are low easily comparable with Kent as was.

Hi Martin,

Which model did you buy from Yuri? I've seen his keys but never bought one.

Tnx

Hi Martin,

That is really nice! I like that the plastic paddles are low to the table. It stays put, no dancing on the table? My Kent is like a tank.

It's a very nice, low-profile paddle - very stable. My eighteen month old granddaughter loves to babble in high speed morse through the sidetone oscillator - and it withstands her fist! I was disappointed that Kent seem to have stopped manufacturing - they were also nicely built. I have a Kent straight key that is very solid...

Those GHD paddles look awesome! I've window shopped for years at Milestone Technologies. Stinks that Marshall Emm, N1FN is now a Silent Key. He bought the Oak Hills Research line from Doug DeMaw, W1FB (SK). I still have my OHR power meter and CW audio filter. Sold off OHR-400 rig. Marshall had a nice selection of keys.

I just checked and they are offering 30% off remaining inventory. I will look closer.

Is your GHD low profile to the table, with fingerpieces?

Mine looks exactly as pictured on DXE site, only has clear plastic box/cover over it. It sits on the table and has comfortable height for fingers. It’s very heavy, but still moves a little, so I put some sticky “play dough” on its legs to hold it better.
I bought mine before DXE started offering them, but I’m pretty sure it’s that same 607F model.

At one point in time earlier this year I wanted to order the double paddle version, but they could not ship due postal problems shipping from regions to regions. And I verified with Deutsche Bundespost that Canada at that time was not accepting oversea's shipments. Not a Deutsche Bundespost problem, was a Canada Post problem.

Not sure if those shipping problems are still in effect.

Kent is now being manufactured in Germany.

Our useless government attempting to keep covid out of Canada. So ban postal shipments from other countries. And people wonder why Canada is the laughing stock of the world now.  >:(
