Raspberry Pi Dstar repeater setup
« on: December 20, 2020, 11:42:12 AM »

I would like to set up a Dstar repeater gateway with a Raspberry Pi. I'm investigating this because Red Hat announced this month the END OF LIFE of their CentOS next year which is used to set up Dstar gateway's and because it seems the Raspberry Pi 4 model B offers a low power and low cost means to function as a Linix OS based gateway instead of a PC running a Linix OS.

I'm new at setting up a Dstar gateway and am a new (-ish) Ham. My searrrches on this topic were not fruitful. Can someone inform me if this has been done and if so, point me in the right direction to set this up? Thanks.  Steve 73

One of the most popular Pi software builds is Pi-Star. It is very well supported and free. See:

I have no experience of setting it up with a public access repeater, but use it on a couple of hotspots without any issues.
