Insolation is independent of season.
Solar insolation is stated for a specified period for a specified location. When discussing solar panels, it is typically expressed in units of kWh/m
2/day. This value changes daily primarily due to the change in the sun's zenith angle and secondarily due to the distance from the sun.
Since solar insolation is notably reduced in winter, the result is you will have less solar energy to convert to electrical energy for a given size panel.
