My first "fish finder" was the PRO III, Then 7300, then 7610.  I still love them. The one in the 7300 was so much better than the PRO III I swapped off the PRO III for, wait for it........another 7300... :)   I love finding the fish, that is why I have and make good use of the fish finders. :)    Its all good in the hood though, If someone doesn't like them, it is ok with me.

One hand on the 101mp vfo knob and the other hand typing calls. No time for watching sight seeing radio displays. Need to improve my typing speed, they come fast and furious in a CQWW contest..

Of course, the other way to do that would be to feed your keyer output to a Morse Decoder, and feed the callsigns you send directly into your log.  Then you could forget typing on the computer, keep on hand on the dial and the other on your key.  You do use a key?  Or are you one of these new modern tech-dependent CW operators who depends on a computer to send Morse Code?

Here is a fish I just caught on 160mtr CW contest. I thought of you when I saw it:

I find a foo foo rah display very useful for finding signals on a dead band that a person without a display, doing the "small step" routine will NEVER HEAR. I can jump on and work them and you will never ever hear them because they are gone by the time you get there.  I need a foo foo rah display to find open spots easily to move to to get off of someone else's frequency to qso with another.  I need a foo foo display to in an instant check to see how signals are running and how high the noise level is jumping too. Sure you can do this "after a while" of listening, but why not use ALL of your senses.

I like the networked SDR displays even more.  On a big monitor, you can watch waterfall activity on 4 bands simultaneously to pick which band to jump into.  Or maybe skim multiple bands for FT4/FT8 decodes to see which bands are open to where, so you can spot a fresh DX opening on a band you're not currently listening to.  It seems strange to me that some of the more expensive direct sampling radios can't do this when a few of the cheaper SDRs can.

That is the best No FT8 post yet, it compares with " no lists no kid no FT8 " or  "DX via artificial insemination"!
