Looking for Max Hilliard
« on: December 31, 2020, 05:18:18 PM »

Old guy, new to amateur radio.  Saw my first ham shack in 1967 when I was 14, friend of my dad's.  Knew then it was in my future.  Took a while, long story.  I remember his name and almost his address.  Would love to know his callsign, and any other info just for nostalgia.

Max Hilliard
McAllen TX

He had a small business repairing Hammond Organs.  Mentored my dad who was thinking of taking over.

Found!  Page 235 of the Radio Amateur Callbook Magazine, from http://leehite.org/callbooks/

W5BBT, Maxwell L. Hilliard, 1414 La Vista McAllen TX.  It is now a vanity callsign granted to Robert M. Taylor, Blevins AR 7/2019.

Will figure a way to tribute him for getting me interested in amateur radio 55 years ago.

Cheers!
