The Bayou Jumper has been re-released
« on: January 05, 2021, 01:10:30 PM »

Okay not exactly life changing but fun for what it is. The Four States QRP Club has made the Bayou Jumper 40 meter transceiver once again available. I'm not a member but thought a few here might be interested.

In our area of the hobby where small portable multiband SDR's are the latest thing this is intended to be a real throwback. It's modeled on the WW II parasets, complete with regenerative receiver and crystal controlled transmitter. It has a small but loyal following and apparently demand was sufficient to re-kit these. It uses FT-243 type crystals. I have the original white face model and have made some nice contacts. I've ordered the new Rev B (listed above) because it comes ready for adding the Souper Uper kit that was once offered. I have that kit but never put it together.

Yeah mine did too! If you haven't already take a look at the RevB assembly manual. There is a fairly in depth discussion of possible mods and add ons. 4SQRP group is terrific.
