i remember the original site owner - nice guy - there was no requirement to have a callsign to sign up here and i didn't have one yet... got licensed and upgraded to AE in a year, submitted many reviews... emailed him about them and he gave me a year's subscription gratis... again, nice fellow

it is a shame that some folks seem to judge contributors/members based on whether or not a username is a callsign...

i just ignore them... this is a great web site and resource for new (and older) hams

I think something is wrong with amateur radio now. Around here anyway the whole structure is 'find a new Tech'....hang around a repeater...go to 'breakfasts....

It is very rare to hear any subject related to radio waves.

Check the numbers. I'm still a pre-incentive General so I can be knocked.

I've always enjoyed eHam. I have no issue with people responding productively to a post, whether they have a callsign or not. What grinds my gears is when the name calling begins and the original reason for the post is long forgotten. No different on QRZ.

Can't we all just get along? As if our numbers aren't declining without this immature behaviour, it's no wonder hams are leaving the hobby.

1 - Probably not controversial, or understandable enough, for the trolls to comment on.
2 - It's not with amateur radio, but with the "lack of electronic knowledge individuals" who are satisfied with just passing a simple test and jumping on a local repeater.
3 - Have you checked those of us that live and breath home-brewing (with its rewards and failures) to see how we interact on this forum to the situations we often encounter? Great bunch of "Elmers"!
4 - The most important, or the easiest? (Defense rests!) LOL

Ham radio is what the individual wants it to be and he/she is the only one that can really make it a fun and educational subject or just another thing to complain about.
There's an old saying that comes to mind, "To make a friend, you must be a friend". It applies to ham radio also. It will be what you want it to be.
