Any SDR frontend ?
« on: January 18, 2021, 07:42:10 AM »

I am looking for sdr frontends  just a switching mixer and the audio opamps on a pcb, or, even, bare pcb ? I need them for experimental purposes .

Do you want a Tayloe quadrature switching mixer with IQ output?

If so, QRP Laps seems to sell a Receiver module kit for around $25, that looks like the receiver half of their QCX QRP transceiver kit.

Thanks.
Yep, I know about qrp-labs. They do have a phasing front end, and  I am  considering it.
However, I also need similar boards, but, to experiment with and develop my own design ! I have some dds and SI chips ready to fit switching mixers

There was a design called Avala-01 around some years ago. You might be able to buy a pcb. The design bottleneck in Tayloe designs is the soundcard. You need a soundcard that is wide and with flat response in the passband and just about none of them are like that.

Thanks
I want to use them as standalone, rather than with a sound card! I already have some audio polyphase boards!
I will do a search for Avala.
I think, something like a Softrock V5 ( known as SR5 ) is suitable for me, because I have a board with just the basics, then  I can add, modify etc
