Hi Clint, so do you have any news update on Fox-1E to share with us?  The rest of us cannot find anything published.

Me? Not at all ... I am not involved in the project. Just the N0JY video from February 7.

The upcoming QSO Today Ham Extravaganza's sessions have been pre-recorded - so nothing "brand new" will come from them - but there's a LIVE Q&A session where attendees may ask questions.

And AMSAT has public email addresses with which sincere folks can inquire. Any questions I have posed on most any topic have been readily answered ... And I would wager anyone else's sincere inquiries would be replied to, too.

(But a little hint: Don't rant against the organization, threaten to take away biz licenses, threaten to close its doors, sic the feds on and personally attack the organization for months in public  forums from whom you would like information. That really isn't conducive to a meaningful conversation.)

Nothing to see here... satellite? What satellite? AMSAT-NA ‘leaders’ really wish people would stop asking obvious questions...

now finally....  there is a really good admission and discussion of the failure of Fox-1E, and how things will move forward with improvements.

See the Apogee view for Jan/Feb 2021, from KE4AL Amsat-NA president, for this.  It's open and honest about things not working right, adding redundancy to spacecraft designs, and overall cost management.   https://www.amsat.org/apogeeview/

They do seem to be worried about not having an "easysat" FM transponder in space at this time, but perhaps polling the membership (and even potential new members) for what transmission modes the next set of satellite transponders should be capable of, might be a good idea.

GOOD NEWS: RadFxSat-2/Fox-1E Update
« Reply #20 on: July 22, 2021, 06:02:43 PM »

It seems that Fox-1E / AO-109 is alive now, and can be used.  Uplink sensitivity is reported to be low or else Tx output is low (or both), but it can be used for CW and FT4.  https://www.amsat.org/ao-109-radfxsat-2-amsat-fox-1e-open-for-amateur-use/     Also see latest May-June Amsat Journal for info on analysis.

I haven't heard it yet, but some others already have.

I see the frequency's are USB and LSB.  What frequency would be used for FT-4?

Thanks
