On FT8, from FN20 I've been QSOing FM16, FM14, FM19, EL99, EL88.  Okay, not spectacular, but interesting.

FT8, so we can pretend a band is open with Zero sunspots today.

As it turns out, according to DX heat, 10 is open for CW and Phone. I suppose that funny sounding stuff is open also.
There "appears" to be an active area on the edge of the SW solar disk but not sure if its connected, doubt it. Sometimes you just never know. "Funny Transmission" 8 might be a heads up to try phone or CW.

10 - 10 Winter QSO contest first weekend in Feb .      Work the world on CW with a DX20 and a rotatable coat hanger antenna when it's "really" open! AH the good old days!

Yes it was indeed open. I worked South Carolina from Connecticut on SSB using 40 watts and an indoor Mag Loop.

A couple of ZL's on 10 cw this morning during the FOC cw contest and then Jim E51JD later in the day on 28420 ssb so no ft8 is needed for contacts on 10.

For the past month 10 FM, 29.6, has even been open to the carrib and South America and about 6 weeks ago for a week long stretch Angola, in Africa was banging in on 10 cw.

So you don't need to be abusing cats on 28.074MHz to make contacts on 10 meters and my qth is at sea level surrounded by the cascades east and the coastal mountain ranges to the west  in the pacific northwest with 300 watts and a little 10meter yagi at 28 feet height.
